Join friends and colleagues Bev Hogg, Kaye Pemberton and Annie Trevillian as they come together to present their latest ceramic birds and sculptures for the garden, and functional ceramics and textiles for the home.  Every artwork will be for sale, set out in a colourful and festive garden for browsing.

  • Bev Hogg works from her home studio in Hackett, ACT on the slopes of Mt Majura nature reserve, where the wildlife fly and wander in and out. Drawing on the birds of the backyard and her concern for the Australian bush, her artworks playfully respond to interconnectedness of animals, people and their shared environment.

Her art practice includes exhibiting sculptural ceramics nationally and internationally, public art and teaching. Notably her artwork has won several major awards including the National Ceramic Award and the Canberra Visual Art Award and is included in public collections at Parliament House, Artbank, Goulburn Regional Art Gallery, Canberra Museum and Gallery and the ACT Legislative Assembly.

Kaye has taught art and ceramics for forty years, conducting workshops in Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Her work has won various awards and been acquired throughout Australia. In 2007 she was the NSW Ministry for the Arts funded resident in the Hill End Artist in Residence Program. While in 2008 her work was selected to represent contemporary Australian craft at Collect the international art fair for contemporary objects at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Kaye’s backyard studio is located in suburban Canberra. She makes domestic ware which is wheel thrown and altered. Working with porcelain, “the hard stuff” is her main interest. Her work focusses on the ceremonies of daily living, observation and presence in the moment.
