Anne will demonstrate the slip cast process she uses to create her birds, and a loaded kiln will be on hand for visitors to gain an insight into the firing process.

Adjacent to the studio is an intimate gallery space, a former 1960s laundry lovingly transformed by Anne and her husband Adam into a small but striking exhibition space of six square metres. The gallery will be filled with a selection of small and affordable works, perfect for gifting or keeping.

  • Anne Masters was awarded a Master of Visual Arts from the Australian National University School of Art in 2012. Upon graduation, Anne was awarded the inaugural Emerging Artist Support Scheme from Canberra Potters. In 2013, Anne completed her first Artist-in-Residence at the International Ceramic Research Centre, Denmark.

Here, she researched a new body of work inspired by Marion Mahoney Griffin's iconic drawings of Canberra as imagined by her husband and professional partner, American architect, Walter Burley Griffin.

In 2024, Anne was commissioned to create a public artwork for the main foyer of Novotel Sydney City Centre as part of a $20 million refurbishment. She researched, designed and created 22 slip-cast porcelain birds inspired by the hotel’s restaurant – Birdie.

Anne has exhibited in Canberra and NSW including at Protean, Nishi Gallery, Surround/s, Canberra Potters Society, curated by Patsy Hely, Ivy Hill Gallery, MU Studio Gallery, Craft + Design Canberra and The Corner Store Gallery, Orange.
