Amy Beggs-French is a Canberra-based ceramic artist and the founder of Deep Blue Ceramics, a certified Net Zero community pottery studio located on Ngunnawal Country. Her practice is grounded in the intimate relationships between land, material and human experience. Amy’s work explores themes of belonging, resilience, connection to place, and the quiet power of everyday objects, often blending traditional hand building processes with contemporary environmental and social narratives.
Alongside her studio practice, Amy teaches extensively and develops ceramics programs that focus on wellbeing, accessibility and community inclusion – supporting women, LGBTQIA+ communities, Defence personnel, and people experiencing social isolation.
Amy’s work has been exhibited across the ACT, including at the Australian National Botanic Gardens and Kyeema Gallery, and she continues to advocate for ceramics as a medium for creativity, healing and social connection.
