Elena is a ceramic and mixed media artist whose work is characterised by dynamic forms, vibrant colours and richly patterned surfaces across vessels, plates and sculptures. Her detailed surfaces are achieved through a range of stamping, embossing, carving, hand painting and glazing techniques, with slab and coil building to great effect.

Elena’s diverse cultural background and love of traditional folk and fairy tales from her childhood have inspired a playful cast of mythical creatures, rendered as sculptures, small figures and traditional whistles. These works, alongside her plates and vessels, will be available for purchase throughout the open studio.
