Dimity Kidston is a Canberra-based tapestry weaver, ceramicist and visual arts educator with a long-standing practice grounded in material exploration, landscape and memory. Working primarily hand-woven tapestry alongside ceramics, Kidston draws on rural heritage, domestic histories, and the textures of everyday life to create richly layered, process-driven works. Her textile practice often incorporates pattern, colour and imagery inspired by historical interiors and lived environments while her ceramic work reflects an interest in form, nature and surface. Alongside her studio practice, Kidston has extensive experience teaching visual art across secondary education, fostering creativity and technical skill in young artists. Her work reflects a deep commitment to craft traditions reimagined within contemporary contexts.
