Discovering her passion for clay, she went on to train as a production potter at the Jam Factory Craft and Design Centre in Adelaide, South Australia. Since moving to Canberra in 1999, Kaye completed a Graduate Diploma in Fine Arts at the Australian National University School of Art.

Kaye has taught art and ceramics for forty years, conducting workshops in Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Her work has won various awards and been acquired throughout Australia. In 2007 she was the NSW Ministry for the Arts funded resident in the Hill End Artist in Residence Program. While in 2008 her work was selected to represent contemporary Australian craft at Collect the international art fair for contemporary objects at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Kaye’s backyard studio is located in suburban Canberra. She makes domestic ware which is wheel thrown and altered. Working with porcelain, “the hard stuff” is her main interest. Her work focusses on the ceremonies of daily living, observation and presence in the moment.
