You are invited to explore the shaded ceramics studio of Lea Durie, where works in progress and finished pieces will be on display. A selection of pieces will be available for purchase including both her Mud Dept. and Lea Durie Ceramics, with a demonstration of surface decoration being offered through the day.

Lea Durie is an artist based in Canberra with a Master of Contemporary Art Practices (with commendation) from the Australian National University (2024). In 2025 Lea was a finalist in the Pro Hart Outback Art Prize. In 2023, her work was recognised by both Belconnen Arts Centre and Craft + Design Canberra with two important emerging artist awards. She was a further award winner in the North Queensland Ceramic Awards in 2024, and highly commended in the Klytie Pate Ceramic Award in Victoria in 2023. Her solo exhibition Tracks and Threads marked a turning point in her practice, showcasing an extensive and innovative body of work at Belconnen Arts Centre in 2024. Also in 2024 Lea curated the Vessels from the Villages exhibition for the Watson Arts Centre. She completed artist residencies at the Canberra Potters Society in 2025 and BigCi in 2024.
