Lelde welcomes visitors into her light-filled home and working studio, where the domestic setting is itself a part of the artistry. Her practice explores nature-inspired art using a range of media techniques including textiles, photography, paintings, prints and digital technologies.
Throughout the Open Studio, Lelde will share the stories and processes behind her work, offering insight into both the conceptual and technical. Most artworks on display will be available for purchase at accessible prices. A selection of artist card packs will also be sold specifically to raise funds in support of humanitarian aid for Ukraine.

Lelde Vitols is a long-term Canberra based artist with a strong connection to nature. She enjoys walking and camping in the local bush and other wild places and taking photographs. This provides her with a source of images which she uses as a basis to experiment with in many different media. She is particularly interested in the way we bring natural imagery into our domestic interiors.
Her work is influenced by technological opportunities that spark her curiosity. She works in innovative and exploratory ways, searching and uncovering. Her works include landscape photographs, prints, paintings, drawings and digital work as well as wall hangings printed on cotton drill and silks. Lelde also produces stunning lamp shades with patterns digitally developed from her photographs and printed onto cotton.
Lelde has several degrees including one in Fine Arts (print making) from the ANU School of Art.
